#5. Sell Pancakes at a Roadside Stand

Abby and I set up around 9:30 A.M. In the Food Lion parking lot near the gas station. We were well prepared with plates, forks, napkins, 20 pancakes, random flowers, and a piggy bank set out on our improvised table made from a Styrofoam board and a baby gate. We sat out in redneck lawn chairs holding our neon pink sign because it wouldn't stay on our "table." Yelling as loud as we could to get people to come buy pancakes from us we acquired waves and smiles from passersby. After around 30 minuets of sitting out a lady drove up and told us about a book she had read that said never pass up a lemonade stand, so she gave us two dollars and left. Next a homeless man came by and asked for one of our flowers. We gave it to him and he bought 5 pancakes after asking us repeatedly if they were homemade. Then we sat, and sat, and sat. Finally we broke down and ate a pancake. They were pretty good. My mom came and bought one next, and finally Abby's grandma bought two. Those were all of our sales adding up to ten dollars, pretty good for an hour and a half. I will not ever open my own IHOP though. The breakfast business is not for me.
